For Spring 2016, Jordan Brand plans to celebrate the illustrious career of Michael Jordan and his long list of feats, achievements and record breaking stats. Next year, there will be three legacy shoe collections introduced that pay homage to “His Airness”. Let’s take a look…
First up is the Poster Collection which is inspired by two iconic images, the “Wing it” and “The Master” posters. This collection will be comprised of the Air Jordan II and Air Jordan XII.
The “Wing it” was an ad campaign poster that was launched alongside sneaker releases in 1986. The shoes feature the same colours as those seen in the poster.
“The Master” poster celebrated the shoe’s 20th anniversary, and next year, we’ll see the Air Jordan XII dressed in black with white accents to pay homage to this striking image.
The next range is the Alternate Collection which honour the on-court exclusive colourways that were released 30 years ago. The collection consists of the Air Jordan II, Air Jordan IV and Air Jordan V Low models and all feature colours inspired by Chicago Bulls.

The final line-up is dubbed the Dunk From Above Collection, which is inspired by Jordan’s dunking talent and consists of the Air Jordan I, Air Jordan IV and Air Jordan V Low silhouettes.
As the first shoe in the Air Jordan 1 series to feature the WIngs logo, the Nouveau silhouette is constructed from premium leather and has a Swoosh inspired by aviators.
The Air Jordan IV in the collection is dressed in a midnight navy and metallic gold colourway was was the first in the brand to have the word “Flight” embroidered on the shoe.
Finally, drawing inspiration from World-War II fighter planes, the Air Jordan V Low also features metallic gold accents and an icy outsole.
