Singaporean based artist Mark Ong returns yet again for another inspired collaboration. The sneaker genius is famed for his military designed customizations and now we have this rugged take on a classic silhouette. The ASICS Gel Lyte V X Kicks Lab Phys Ed is scheduled to release on Saturday via select retailers.
The debut collaboration for the Gel Lyte sees the artist join forces with Tokyo based sneaker retailer, Kicks Lab. Following on from other collabs with Nike and DC, Ong has attempted to create a completely unique sneak. The upper takes on a military inspired design complete with camo colours from tan to brown and khaki.
Quilted detailing to the toe region is a nice touch whilst a white midsole adds some nice contrast. To complete the look, the pair sits on a gum coloured outsole and feature a removable Velco tongue attachement. It’s one final nod to the removable patches found on military uniforms.
