Nike Flyknit technology was only unveiled in 2011, but it feels like the lightweight, innovative construction method has been around for much longer! The new use of knitted fabrics to construct the upper was a game changing move for Nike, which unlocked additional performance benefits in terms of an athletic shoe. For other sneakers, the new fabric paved the way for new styles, colours and designs which breathed new life into some of the retro models such as the Air Force 1 High.
