Taking its name from the Rift Valley, Nike’s innovative runner was designed back in 1995 to meet the needs of the Kenyan running team who preferred a more natural stride. What first began as a unique performance feature quickly transformed into a distinctive silhouette that was much loved by sneakerheads.

The split toe shoe has undergone a one-of-a-kind makeover at the hands of Brazilian fashion designer Pedro Lourenco. Inspired by the traditions of his home country, the pair is dressed in an all white upper, a colour worn for New Year’s eve in Brazil.

There’s also been some amendments to the shoe’s synthetic leather upper with the addition of a glossy enamel coating. It makes for an angelic design that looks fresh and premium.  Unfortunately, for many sneakerheads this may be one pair that you won’t be able to enjoy.

NikeLab Air Rift x Pedro Lourenço Release Date

The NikeLab Air Rift x Pedro Lourenço is only available in Nike Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro and Cartell 011 in Sao Paulo. It may be the perfect excuse to hop on a plane and enjoy some Brazilian sun.
