Miami based footwear retailer, Shoe Gallery, has joined forces with Reebok to release a special edition of Ventilator silhouette to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Many of the collaborated shoes draw inspiration from various sources, and on this occasion, it’s a very influential boat. The shoes pay tribute to the Mariel Boatlift, the massive emigration of Cubans to Miami back in 1980.
The pair are constructed from a white upper featuring shiny patent leather over a perforated base. This colour was chosen to signify the exterior of the boat while the blue inner lining is meant to resemble to the interior.
Additional nautical theme details include an anchor graphic under the translucent outsole and an embossed boat registration number on the heel.
