One of Adidas’ oldest and most legendary silhouettes receives a modern upgrade this summer. The Superstar 80s is one of the most iconic pieces of footwear in the world and helped shape sneaker culture into what it is today. There have been lots of collaborations this year alone including UNDFEATED, BAPE and Pharrell Williams, however this newest pair is strictly Adidas’ handiwork.
The shell toe silhouette is constructed from a brand new material, primeknit. The innovative fabric which is currently used on the Yeezy 350 Boost and series of Tubular runners, has now been used to construct the Superstar 80s.
On first impression, the style and shape seem to retain the familiar old school design. The rubber shell toe at the front of the shoe and three stripes on the sidewalls make the pair seem almost ordinary, however it is when you take a closer look at the upper things get exciting! The Primeknit material significantly reduces the weight of the shoe and takes the classic silhouette to a new level.
The shoes are available in both black and white and we’re sure they’ll be a hit with sneakerheads around the world.
