Nike chairman Phil Knight was there from the very beginning in 1968 and helped establish the brand that was formerly Blue Ribbon Sports. Recently, he announced his plans to step down from his current position as chairman of the company in 2016, with president/CEO Mark Parker to succeed him.
The 76 year old have been pivotal in the brands success. “I intend to continue to work with NIKE,” Knight said, “and look forward to contributing to its future well after my chairmanship ends.”
Nike has made Knight a billionaire many times over and we’re sure the brand will continue to succeed and innovative sneakers for years to come.
