Nike recently launched the newest model in the Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant range dubbed the Nike KD8.
The signature shoe is constructed using two technologies that have never been seen before in a basketball shoe; a Flyweave upper and a full-length Zoom Air unit. The unorthodox and dynamic nature of Durant’s play on court inspired this innovative shoe and its unique design features.
The shoe, designed by Nike designer Leo Chang, features a woven textile Flyweave upper with Flywire cables for ultra support and comfort. The full-length Zoom Air unit provides superior cushioning underfoot and adapts to your foots movements.
The shoe itself was inspired by the sabretooth tiger, which Durant has tattooed on his ankle, and features design aesthetics towards the heel to resemble its fangs.
Nike KD 8 Release Date
The KD 8 is available in two colourways, the Independence Day edition and the bright red version dubbed the V8, inspired by Durant’s Camaro. The blue Independence Day colouyway is available now while the V8 is expected to release on 11th July.
