Many of the silhouettes from Jordan Brand have a story to tell. Various pairs honour certain times, events and people in Michael Jordan’s life, and this upcoming pair is no different.
When Jordan announced his retirement in 1993, the United Center, his home ground, unveiled an amazing statue outside the front entrance to commemorate all he did for basketball and to honour his spirit for the game.
This pair pay tribute to Jordan’s spirit with the Air Jordan 9 Retro, which is actually the pair he is wearing on the statue. The shoes are dressed in predominately white but with a militia green midsole and accents to represent the natural colour of the statue.
A Black vamp and tongue add some nice contrast to the otherwise bright upper and a bold 23 and logo is found on the heel of each shoe.
