The Gel-Lyte III silhouette from ASICS turns 25 this year and to help celebrate the occasion, London based sneaker retailer Foot Patrol were invited to create their own version of the classic runner dubbed, the Footpatrol x ASICS GEL LYTE III Squad.
This is the third time Foot Patrol has collaborated with the Japanese footwear giants, but will it be the best? Their previous projects have also featured the same military theme as this pair because the brand image is heavily centered around Britons during World War II. The retailers logo is a gas mask which is also incorporated into this Ventilator design.
This shoe is said to represent the stores team spirit, and tight knit squad-like approach to working hard.
The pair is coloured in green and olive tones and feature black, gold and red accents. A Morse code message saying ” ‘Footpatrol GEL-LYTE III’ ” is interwoven into the laces to add another nice military touch.
The shoes sit on top of a solid white midsole and black outsole speckled with gold speckled. An embroidered split tongue completes the look of these awesome military inspired kicks.
