The Nike Air Mowabb OG was originally designed by Nike legend Tinker Hatfield back in 1991. The shoe is constructed using elements from Nike ACG, Air Huarache and the Air Force 1 CMFT to create one awesome looking hybrid. Old meets new in this retro silhouette, so let’s see if the old school charm of the Mowabb meets the current trend of today’s sneaker market…
Back in its day, the Mowabb was considered a pioneer in light weight mountain boot footwear, which still managed to retain style, comfort and functionality.
The shoes are constructed from a leather beige upper, accented with vivid hits of blue and orange on the neoprene sock liner.
Perforations puncture the shoe all over to further reduce the weight and increase ventilation. The pair also feature the ACG logo on the sole and ankle with more branding found on the classic black heel cage. This heel cage is adopted from the Huarache and adds further support where it’s needed the most.
The shoes sit on a speckled grey midsole and a black and blue accented sole. The look is finished off with a pair of beige laces to tie the Mowabb style together.
