The Nike Kobe X Elite Drill Sergeant is the latest model to come form the Black Mamba’s line of incredible basketball sneakers. Over the years, we’ve seen some great silhouettes from the Kobe series which are inspired by various places, events and people in his life. This latest pair pay tribute to a much needed lesson he learnt which transformed his game to help him become the leader he is today.
Early in Kobe’s career, he was renowned for being an incredible athlete, but also quite scornful to his teammates when they made mistakes. A group of veterans in the game noticed this, and told Kobe that if he were to become a real leader of the team, he must ditch his drill sergeant ways, and instead lead by example.
This was a tough lesson to learn for the Black Mamba, but a necessary one and this pack pays tribute to that lesson. The pair is dressed in a combination of Dark Atomic Teal and Mineral Teal and feature Total Orange accents. The shoes are crafted from Flyknit and sit on a black natural motion midsole.
