Nike “What The” Doernbecher” SB Dunk $100,000 on eBay

Video via Complex

It was only a few days ago when we covered the release of the Nike “What The” Doernbecher” SB Dunk. The shoe celebrates the 11th year the Doernbecher Freestyle Program which allows select children from the hospital to design their own pair of shoes.

This year’s edition of the What The Dunk Hi incorporate design elements from all 13 Nike SB’s that have been included in previous Doernbecher collections. Hence, the Frankenstein effect of stitching together radically different styles to produce one overall silhouette.

The limited release was made available through eBay, with all proceeds going to towards the hospital for projects including clinical programs, hospital construction and care for uninsured children.

The shoe has hit an all time high at over $100,000 making it the most expensive sneaker ever to be sold!

Over the years, the project has raised over $11 million for the hospital, and sale of this shoe will certainly make a healthy contribution also.
