Nike celebrate the 11th Anniversary of the Doernbecher Freestyle Program at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
Since 2004, the Children’s Hospital and Nike have been empowering patients through designing one-of-a-kind apparel, footwear and equipment. The program aims to create products that reflect the inspirations and aspirations of six lucky young patients.
To date, the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection has raised more than $11 million which help support hospital practices including clinical programs, hospital construction and care for uninsured children.
Nike will release eleven pairs of the “What The Doernbecher” Nike Dunk High SB which are designed using 42 design features from all 13 of the program’s SB designs. The shoes will be auctioned on eBay for 10 days, starting 11th June and encased in scrubs from hospital staff and in a one-of-kind box made from pieces of skateboard.
